Lake Mokoan

Lake Mokoan is situated on the outskirts of northern Victoria's high country. It is nestled between Benalla and Wangaratta in close proximity to the Warby Ranges, Reef Hills and Mount Samaria State Parks.

The area is the gateway to a setting of stunning mountains and waterways. The region provides a rich heritage and inspiring atmosphere for enjoying the outdoors.

A number of walking tracks can be found within the Warby Ranges with breathtaking viewing points, birdlife and wildflowers. Waterfalls can also be seen during winter.

The Rural City of Wangaratta is best known for its historic buildings and riverside parklands. It has great access to local wineries, gourmet food and many historic towns within the region including Oxley, Milawa and Whitfield.

Benalla's historic Botanic and Rose garden near the Broken River and the Regional Art Gallery are both tranquil places to visit. Benalla has a warm country town atmosphere. It is located close to Glenrowan, a popular spot for those following the infamous Ned Kelly trail. There are several excellent places to eat including restaurants and bakeries.
